Metaphor gets strengthen
From the day, one is born, unknown of the world he enters in,
His parents were his everything, siblings were only his kith and kin,
Friends, then colleagues, then spouse, children, then grandchildren,
With age, his world changes, and the metaphor gets strengthen.
Stunning nature, stranded mountain, river flowing fiercely,
Birds enjoying their freedom, breeze playing effortlessly.
Calamities are too common to make him realize, he is mistaken,
With time, his surrounding changes, the metaphor gets strengthen.
Excitement for something new – a degree, a job, a relationship,
Dopamine in his mind gets him joy, elevates a feeling of ownership,
But this moment does not last long, at times leaves him heartbroken,
With every new anxiety, his view changes, the metaphor gets strengthen.
One day, he happens to stand at his window, criticizing his neighbor,
“How can they wear such dirty clothes?” Can’t they wash putting some extra labor ?”
This continues for few more days, being completely angst ridden,
With this new experience, being unaware, the metaphor gets strengthen.
Same “he” and same definition of his “metaphor”,
Only difference in his interpretation, became the biggest illuminator
Realized, “It is not their ‘Clothes’ but his ‘window’ which needs cleaning as a facilitator,
Remove unwanted marks and show him a clear picture like a true instructor.
It did not take him time to realize, life is a blank slate before any words are written,
With realization, our perspective changes, the metaphor gets strengthen.
