Making a Difference!

Walking on the beach, Anand was depressed, losing all his hope,

He started doubting himself, couldn’t untie his anxiety rope

Lost in thoughts, his NGO popped up infront of his eyes,

All time, efforts and money spent to do something meaningful, was now like rolling the dice.

“What difference am I making to those parents at my old age center?

Every day I have a visitor asking for help, there are so many, who are not being looked after.

How will I attend, all of them, I do not have resources in abundance ?

The problem is still not resolved with my NGO’s increasing dependence.

The root cause still remains, Am I making any difference ?”

“World is changing. Our living has experienced a paradigm shift, so has our mindset,

“Parents” who are the very reason of our existence, have now become an obsolete asset.

There are so many to attend and my old age home cannot accommodate everyone,

It is dreadful to see role of parents changing from being a ‘pillar’ to a random ‘someone’

Considering his goal will never be fulfilled, Anand was about to give up.

Cannot see people suffer anymore, he decided to close his lifelong setup

Suddenly, he saw a man some few yards away, performing a very silly activity,

Throwing fish back in the ocean which storm landed on shore due to their vulnerability.

Anand approached that man, hesitantly asked, “How many fish you see on shore?”

“Thousand, I guess” replied young man, “Or may be more ?”

“What difference does is make when you cannot benefit all ?”

The man picked up a fish and threw it in water,

“It makes difference to this one, may be not too big but certainly not too small”

This one sentence was enough for Anand to get his vision re-install.
