Another year! Just Another!
Number of times, counting the stars outside,
I feel, every day, every month, every year is just passing by
"Yes, that is our very nature, son"
Smiled the mighty sky
Winter being felt literally,
Indicating, it will just pass with a high-five
Scorching heat will again wet my clothes,
Monsoon just did that, a few months ago, before bidding goodbye
People say it wasn't a good year which passed by
Something unexpected pops up, to stay for a little longer.
Very tight bond of rules and regulations
Which people wanted to untie.
Star blinks a little,
Taking me back to the skies,
It is a new year now,
Let's get rid of all Hows and Whys
But this very star was visible some few months back
If nothing changes, how can a year pass by,
Same sky, same balcony, same me, same star,
Still, a change in time gets me mystified.
If it is just another moment, How does it matter
Whether it is a second, minute, month, or a year to quantify,
It is just another moment after all,
It is passing with the blink of an eye.
Have heard, the time zone is different,
In countries, planets, and galaxies,
On what basis, one calculates time then?
What has passed and what is then passing by?
Getting engrossed deeper into the sky,
When I was finding my why
An answer came up from the sky,
"There's nothing to clarify,
Everything changes, but actually nothing does
It changes from where you see me
And it doesn't if you see from my eye"
Took a moment to understand, what sky meant
On understanding, I was petrified,
Only this blue lady could exemplify,
Counting the starts I was now satisfied.
